If it is after dinner entertainment you are looking for and want to get your guests on their feet: what better way than a Scottish Ceilidh Band. Roddy plays with the William Marshall Ceilidh Band, who are well recognised on the Ceilidh/folk scene all over Scotland. The band has recently played at the Marriott Dalmahoy, Stirling Castle, Edinburgh Castle, Melville Castle, on board luxury Scottish cruise ship the Hebridean Spirit and at Murrayfield stadium. The band, led by William on accordion, produces an exhilarating and exciting evening for everyone. All the band members are professional musicians and strive to provide a high-class service. Every band member has recorded sessions for TV and radio. The band will lead guests through the steps of popular dances, such as the dashing White Sergent, Eightsome Reels and Strip the Willow, as well as Virginia Reel and Canadian Barndance,to name but a few. If you want a more formal ceilidh, William is also a skilled dance caller and will encourage guests to try dances. He will walk through the dances first, and then the guests can try it for themselves. This always has the effect of improving participation and can lead to an exhilarating and amusing evening. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment. The band uses a high quality sound system which ensures a clear resonance of the music and makes it easy to understand the walkthroughs. The band usually appears in a three or four piece setup. The three piece band is William Marshall on Accordion with Roddy on small pipes and highland pipes along with a drummer. For the four piece band we keep the same set up and bring in our experienced Keyboard player. Click below to hear a sample of the three piece and four piece band. Discos New package |
